The Chief's Corner

We have three big changes in store. First, I would like to introduce myself as the prospective Chief Instructor for GEFA. This change will have me working with students as well as performing essential office functions required to maintain our operating certificate. I plan to tap into my extensive military and commercial aviation background to make GEFA the premier flight school in San Diego. I assure you, I will maintain an open door policy because access is very important to me. Feel free to drop by and speak with me anytime. My main goal is to insure that GEFA is the most user-friendly, enjoyable, and economical flight school for our customers.

Speaking of customers, this month you’ll notice a lot of new faces around GEFA. That’s because we’re launching our new international training program. This unique program will consist of Private through Commercial Multi-Engine training for students from foreign countries. Please make them feel welcome on their journey toward becoming professional pilots. GEFA has always been a social school built around friendships and the arrival of our international students will add another dimension to that tradition. To accommodate the influx of new students, GEFA offices and classrooms have been improved and updated in order to provide the best training environment for all students. We have appreciated everyone’s patience and understanding during the construction phase; I think you’ll all agree it was worth the wait.

Our commitment to making GEFA more user-friendly will be reflected in our website renovation. We’ll be making content changes as well as improving the look and feel of the site. It will be expanded to include useful links, so customers can easily access the hottest aviation websites. Expect to find many commonly used GEFA forms, checklists, and documents online. Milestones such as new ratings, solos, and endorsements will be acknowledged and celebrated. Most importantly, GEFA students will soon be able to visit us on our MySpace and Facebook pages where they can socialize, exchange training tips, and provide us with valuable feedback. We encourage all of our customers to check the GEFA website frequently for updates.

Join us, as we welcome our first International students who should arrive early in the month of August. We are excited to kick off our new flight training programs and are looking forward to starting our new classes. GEFA has long been known for cutting-edge training programs and this one in particular will be no exception. We are all eager to begin working with our new international students.
